The Costume Institute ball was centred around the idea of “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology,” exploring the relationship between clothes created by hand (or “manus”) versus the machine. Here are our top five standout couples who graced the red carpet at the event:
Kim Kardashian and Kayne West

Kim Kardashian wore a thigh-high slit Balmain silver showstopper with t-bar silver heels, whilst Kayne West thought he’d be a bit different by wearing ripped jeans and a Balmain jacket with blue contact lenses.
Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid

Zayn rocked in a custom Versace suit with metal arms at the 2016 Met Gala. Gigi, 21, stunned in a gorgeous grey custom Tommy Hilfiger gown. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit stunner opted for a high neckline. She put her bare shoulders on display and showed off lots of leg underneath her see-through ensemble.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban

Nicole looked elegant and ethereal in an Alexander McQueen dress by Sarah Burton, whilst Keith striking tux with a white bow tie and matching flower.
Bella Hadid and Abel Tesfaye

Bella Hadid wore a strapless, high-slit Givenchy dress that featured a large plush train, teamed with thigh-high, peep-toe boots. Her beau The Weeknd crooner looked dapper in a classic tux.
Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor

Zoolander 2 star, Ben Stiller looked handsome in a Valentino tuxedo with his wife Christine Taylor wearing a fall 2014 embroidered gown.
