The key element of this collection was the experimental treatment of leather to look like canvas or denim. Workwear shirt-jackets looked like jean jackets at first glance but were in fact specially treated leather. Driving loafers and thick platform sneakers looked like canvas but were also leather. It gave a modern and innovative feel to the pieces; a way for creative director Andrea Incontri to move forward the brand’s iconic smart casual aesthetic. Tod’s strong suit is always its accessories and this collection was no different. The bags had a striped effect that rendered them with a casual beachy look and yet still smart and polished. The same striped effect also appeared on the iconic moccasins. One of the leather bags came in a gorgeously different yet surprisingly versatile burnt orange colour. In general, Tod’s did not fail to deliver a collection utterly suited to its modern core customer.
