Fashion and beauty icons like Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor were amongst the stars who became synonymous for showcasing one version of the classic chignon. Until today, one can never underestimate the power of a good chignon. It’s a simple yet chic look that is perfect for formal parties this festive season. It’s also a beautiful, feminine, timeless and sophisticated hairstyle that will never go out of date.
Hair professional and stylist, Nicolas Hallak at Nicolas and Jean Beauty Salon shares his tips. He said:”The result will look like hours of hair styling went into this and others will be so impressed you pulled this off.”
Step 1: Spray a voluming spray on the roots to create depth and blow dry hair. Once dry, part your hairline on the side and tie it in a ponytail
Step 2: Twirl it into a low bun and secure with bobby pins. Finish off with some hairspray to make sure it lasts all night long.
Step 3: For an extra fancy do, flip your chignon inside out by pulling a gap where the hair parts, just above the chignon. Tuck the chignon inside the gap and back out from the bottom.
