Atelier House Hospitality is set to launch Tides, a new underground-level, New York style chic bar in DIFC.
A new high-end bar, with a New York City chic vibe, is set to open next month in DIFC. Following the success of Michelin-starred 11 Woodfire from Atelier House Hospitality, Tides Bar is the next exciting location to open. Open exclusively from Thursday to Saturday between 10 pm and 3 am, Tides Bar will transport guests to the vibrant hip-hop scene of the 90s juxtaposed with a luxurious Dubai atmosphere.
The theme behind this bar, evokes a feeling of changing tides and changing moods, refreshing the old and the new, the ocean with the city. The interior takes guests under the sea, with nautical décor pieces and blue-lit glass bubbles suspended from the ceilings. On alternating walls, contrasting amber pop-art reminiscent of New York’s pop art deco scene brings that chic city vibe into the room.

To reflect the name of the bar, and the funky interiors, the menu offers a selection of ocean-themed cocktails inspired by the world’s 7 seas and 5 oceans, prepared by top mixologists. One of the highlights from the menu is the Arabian Sea made with an arak & vodka base with a hint of sage and a tropical touch of refreshing grapefruit, served up in a special blue rock glass.
The bar also welcomes guests to enjoy a selection of bar bites, created by talented Executive Chef Yunus Emre Aydin and 90s hip hop music mixed by live resident DJs.
Managing Director of Atelier House Hospitality, Panchali Mahendra commented, “TIDES has been a passion project for over a year, and it is a delight to see it finally come to light. This launch is a tremendous culmination of the entire Atelier House Hospitality team coming together to add a new spark to the nightlife scene in DIFC. The venue is unique to Dubai as we realized a New York-style high-end bar with a refined, engaging, and lively ambiance for the after-hours crowd was lacking. We made sure to maintain the elevated standard expected for the Marea brand but inject some intrigue”.

To discover this ocean meets city experience, join Tides Bar on the Lounge Level of Marea, Gate Village 7, DIFC, from 1st July.

Max Mara presented the 2023 Resort collection with a marine embellishment theme across the collection. We discover the looks from the runway.
In the garden of Lisbon’s Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, surrounded by luscious trees and ponds, Max Mara presented the 2023 resort collection. This collection has drawn on inspiration from intellectual, poet and social activist Natalia Correia, and revives the spirit of this remarkable woman, celebrating her contribution to Portuguese life in the mid-twentieth century.
Max Mara presents below-the-knee sheaths that are perfect for parties, like the high-brow soirees that Natalia Correia attended, and for almost every gown, a trademark coat to wear it with. These silhouettes are curvier with a nod to the traditional dress worn during this era. The collection delivers Max Mara’s message of passion and power.

The collection was divided into sections, in one it focused on iconic Max Mara DNA, coats, gilets and tailoring were displayed, and fishnet tights peeked out from under the flowing materials. In the next, the house designer, Ian Griffiths shared ‘handkerchiefs of love’. These squares of linen with hand-stitched love symbols are a romantic Portuguese tradition representing the most poetic ritual used by girls of marriable age, to win the heart of their beloved. In this section, long skirts in deep tones of mustard, purple and orange were accompanied by knitwear that was handstitched with beaded sea-creatures.

Louis Vuitton presents its latest high jewellery collection for 2022 and announces Cate Blanchett as the house’s newest ambassador starring in its campaign.
Louis Vuitton has revealed its latest high jewellery collection which features five key values across 125 spectacular pieces: Radiance, Liberty, Grace, Fantasy and Destiny. The collection titled ‘Spirit’, is infused with designs of mythological creatures that the contemporary Louis Vuitton woman will recognize herself in.
The high jewellery pieces are brought together with sharp metal lines and extraordinary colourful gems. The gems took three years to source and have been collected from different locations across the globe, sapphires from Sri Lanka, emeralds from Colombia and rubies from Mozambique to name a few.

Jewellery designer, Francesca Amfitheatrof, uses triangle shapes and Vuitton Vs in the designs, forging a new, modern and high-impact visual language.
“I used this shape in many pieces, playing with triangles of different sizes,” says Amfitheatrof. “It reads as the Vuitton V and resembles an arrow, which was the earliest graphic symbol ever created by humans – pointing the direction, it constantly urges us forward.”

The brand also reveals Cate Blanchett as the new house ambassador. The actress stars in the latest campaign for the high jewellery collection, which will be released in July, and effortlessly embodies the collection’s themes.

On the salt mountains of Camargue Park in the South of France, Jacquemus presented the fall 2022 men’s and womenswear collections on Monday the 27th of June. Guests that attended said ‘it almost felt like the collections were being presented on the moon’. This location was the perfect backdrop for the pieces presented by the brand.
The models descended from the salt dunes and travelled down the runway that had been carved out, each presenting a pallet of colours that reflected the setting. Designs presented tulle veils and modern trains which blew in the wind like an angelic bride.

The show began with a duo of models who danced as they presented the first of the 61 looks. From then, the models continued, presenting crisp white gowns with sheer materials, deep khaki and sandy cargo pants, brown and cream tailoring, and blue checked outerwear.
The designer said, “I started working on the collection with the obsession to restart from nothing, like a white page.” With 61 looks, these pages soon filled up and the collections presented were a huge success.

Each year, in line with the global fashion industry calendar, the Arab Fashion Week is held for both men and women, in Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter collections. Earlier in March, we saw the Women’s collections presented, and in this latest edition, starting on June 28th the menswear Spring/Summer lines arrive.
The Arab Fashion Weeks are developed in strategic partnership with the Arab Fashion Council and the Dubai Design District. The event helps to pave the way for Dubai to be recognised as one of the world’s global fashion hubs and has created a platform for regional designers to showcase their talents in front of international media and buyers.

A roster of designers from the Middle East will showcase their work, plus designers from industry capitals in Lebanon, the Philippines and the UK. In addition, three dynamic Paris-based designers, presented by The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, have been carefully selected to represent France’s menswear sector and are set to showcase designs that embody a fresh sense of individuality and spirit.
Commenting ahead of opening night, Khadija Al Bastaki, Executive Director of Dubai Design District said: “We are delighted to kick off this fourth edition of Men’s Arab Fashion Week, the only Men’s Fashion Week held throughout the Middle East and Asia, and our second edition this year. In addition to marking the 20th edition of Arab Fashion Week overall, the Spring-Summer 2023 Men’s Ready-to-Wear collections will bring an exciting mix of local, regional and international talent and opportunity to Dubai – to engage, rethink the regular, inspire and push the boundaries on the menswear fashion offering here in the region. Collaborating with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, we are immensely proud to see the three special guest designers – selected by the federation – in the line-up, ready to take to our runway.”

Marc Jacobs presented the womenswear Fall 2022 collection in New York with extravagant designs and a multitude of materials. We discover the looks below.
On Monday 27th June, Marc Jacobs presented the womenswear Fall 2022 collection in the grand marble lobby of the New York public library. This show was held exactly one year after the last show at the same location. The show was titled “Choice” and was clearly reflected in the materials and silhouettes presented.
Marc Jacobs has always had a flair for creating drama and was not afraid to experiment with materials and designs in this collection. Knits, denim, foil, vinyl and even glass, paper and plaster were all used to create the exquisite pieces on show. Gigi and Bella Hadid were given fascinating makeovers, alongside other models who presented the futuristic ready-to-wear clothes.

On one model, the knits would be brightly coloured and oversized, tied around shoulders and waists, almost hiding the human that was underneath, on the next model, a shiny, metallic purple ballgown was worn, with different layers creating impact and volume. The apparel was paired with white chunky platforms that continued throughout and were a bold accessory that reflected the collection perfectly.
“My sentiment is unwavering,” Marc Jacobs wrote. “Creativity is essential to living.”

The Moschino Spring/Summer 2023 menswear collection pays homage to the iconic works and approach of the late artist Tony Viramontes. We discover this artistic collection from behind the scenes.
Creative Director of Moschino, Jeremy Scott created this latest collection using fashion artist Tony Viramontes’ striking artwork as inspiration. The late artist became known for the way in which he could capture bold aesthetics through both camera lense and creative mediums. Viramontes’ would focus on the face and body movement, using dark lines and shapes with pop-bright colours intertwined.
“I wanted to shine a light on this brilliant creator,” says Scott. “He may not be a household name, but Tony Viramontes is a force.”

The artwork was presented on Moschino garments in abstract visages, squiggles and expressive strokes, with new silhouettes that play with length and height. Pieces include shorts, pleated skirts, tapered pants, oversized coats and leather jackets, each enlivened by polychrome treatments.
Moschino has cleverly woven its classic DNA into the artwork of Viramontes’ for this Spring/Summer 2023 collection, which is both striking and sophisticated.

Dior presents its Spring/Summer 2023 menswear collection, La Conversation: Part Two, at Paris Fashion Week.
This latest collection, presented by Artistic Director of men’s collections, Kim Jones, looks at the Maison’s creating founder, Christian Dior, in his 75th anniversary of the house. This second part is conceived as a continuation of this conversation, which began as a part one earlier in the year when the Fall/Winter collection was presented.
Christian Dior did not only find passion in the fashion world but when he was younger, he developed a love of nature, which has inspired many Dior moments as well as this latest collection. Kim Jones takes us on a journey through time and space, from Paris to the countryside, to Normandy and Granville, the birthplace of Christian Dior and the home of his legendary garden. Jones also intertwines Bloomsbury Group artist and designer of textiles, Duncan Grant linking his residence in Sussex, and merging the past and present and personal stories of these creatives.

“Granville and Sussex have a similar climate; the weather, the light and the garden tie one place to the other. For both Christian Dior and Duncan Grant, their homes, their gardens, and their private environments were so important for their creativity. it was these meaningful, private spheres that were translated into their work and became public. here, we are mixing the utilitarian, natural and gardening elements with stylised, luxurious, new look facets and Duncan grant artworks in the collection – the private and the public together. There is an idea of the passage of time, the changing weather and light of the seasons, as well as continuity, artistic communities and the legacy of the house of Dior.” Kim Jones
The runway backdrop is a perfect setting to present the collection. The models appear from a house, a replication of Les Rhumbs, Monsieur Dior’s childhood home, and walk through a field of grass and flowers. The apparel and accessories reflect the natural colour pallet from the graduation of Dior greys, pinks and pastels to the utilitarian gardening, walking and fishing greens and blues.

Reclaimed cashmere and double-breasted tailored coats are teamed with tailored shorts with built-in turn-down waistbands and walking shoes. New bar jackets continue, made in semi-transparent silk organza, to reveal the strict traditional masculine construction of the garments underneath.

The menswear fashion week has come to an end with the final brands presenting their menswear Spring/Summer 2023 collections this weekend. We discover some of the looks on the runway from Loewe, Celine and Paul Smith.
Loewe
This latest collection from Loewe, we are sure will be one that is remembered for some time. Not only did the brand create unique pieces of apparel, but it was able to fuse together nature and technology. Grass growing on fabric, birds flying and fish swimming on screens, this was a combination of art, real nature and digital production. This experimental process was developed in collaboration with Paula Ulargui Escalona, as plants were grown into the clothing, they needed perfectly timed maintenance to be runway ready. It was a poetic vision that expanded perceptions and boundaries.

Loewe
Paul Smith
For Paul Smith’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the brand revisits the 1980s art scene to offer a refined take on classic menswear silhouettes. From daywear to nightwear, imagined being worn on a hot summer’s day, the collection presents an effortless take on formal codes in shades of soft lavender, earthy brown, powder blue and sea coral. Artistic prints and floral patterns are airbrushed on for a hazy finish, seen on shirting and outerwear, capturing the humidity of summer and the essence of nature.

Paul Smith
Celine
Celine returned to the runway and closed this year’s menswear spring/summer 2023 fashion week. The collection titled “Dysfunctional Bauhaus”, was presented at Palais De Tokyo as Creative Director, Hedi Slimane pays tribute to this museum and institution. The clothing collection made references to American rock star fashion, in the form of leather jackets, pointed-toe boots, ripped denim and of course, an American flag. The clothing also featured works of art from David Weiss, Alyss Estay and Renata Petersen.

Chanel reveals new additions to the Les Beiges line and shades of new pastel summer nail colours. We discover these must-have products for your summer vacation beauty case.
When summer arrives, we all dream of that sun-kissed summer glow on our skin, but it can be a fine line between a healthy glow and a sweaty shine. Chanel’s latest beauty products, part of the Les Beiges collection, give you everything you need to maintain your glow, not just through the summer, but all year long. This new collection consists of three beauty products for the skin, a tinted powder, a body shimmer spray and a bronzing cream.
The first product, a sun-kissed powder is presented in an oversized Chanel compact in three bronzing shades. The powders are light and are designed to warm the tones of the skin without looking heavy or washed out. The powder can also be worn on other parts of the body, the neck and décolleté, shoulders, arms and legs. It also comes with an oversized Kabuki brush that provides an easy application for the face and large areas, perfect for a flawless application.

Product: Bronzing Cream CRÈME BELLE MINE ENSOLEILLÉE
The next product is a dry oil designed for generous application to the face, body and even hair. The spray comes in a 250ml bottle and has a golden-copper-toned shimmer that reflects the sun’s rays on the skin.
The final product is a delicate bronzing cream that can be applied under the bronzing powder. It delivers a delicate healthy glow that can be used on different skin tones to warm up the complexion.
Chanel knows that it’s not just about the skin during the summer and that all areas of the body must be taken care of. In addition to the bronzing collection, Chanel has revealed six new summer shades for the nails and a flawless manicure set, for perfect nails every time.

Shade: Rose Coquillage
The manicure set includes a cuticle oil that moisturises and cares for the nails, and a protective base coat that can be used alone or under the nail polish shades. The shades revealed are inspirations from summer nature, tones that remind us of the sun, sea and sky, such as the rosy shimmer of seashells, the soft orange hues of corals and the shiny white of the sea foam.

Kenzo presents its Spring/Summer 2023 menswear collection, alongside the womenswear at Paris Fashion Week, merging naval and Japanese inspirations.
Kenzo presents its Spring/Summer 2023 women’s and men’s collections in a double presentation titled ‘Kenzo Brand Boom’. The wardrobe suggests it is suited for everyday life, founded on a long-lasting approach to fashion. Artistic Director, Nigo hones the codes and expands the Kenzo ready-to-wear philosophy, underpinned in silhouettes and motifs from the archives.
The collections deconstruct iconic Kenzo Takada designs and form a uniquely Japanese view of Paris, shared by the founder and his heir. For Nigo, this collection evokes his own Kenzo discovery and his memories as a teenager exploring the fashion landscape, the DC Brand Boom of 1980s’ Japan.

During this time, renowned Japanese designers were inspired by casual, pop-driven character labels distinguishable by their use of colourful and cartoonish animal motifs. This culture has now been revisited in the Kenzo Spring-Summer 2023 collection, celebrating the spirit of the French Japanese fashion during this time.
The collection wardrobe is composed of tailoring and workwear, dresses and varsity jackets, creating a youthful silhouette for contemporary apparel and style. Graphics and patterns have been reinterpreted from the archives of Kenzo Takada, for a fresh new take on the iconic designs. In a nod to a Japanese view of Parisian couture in the 1980s’, the collection also features nautical influences in the form of sailor caps and collars across both men’s and womenswear.

Dior presented its cruise 2023 women’s collection in Seville on the 16th of June, which paid tribute to flamenco dancer, Carmen Amaya. We discover the delicate embroidery work that took place behind the scenes in order to create these incredible pieces.
For Maria Grazia Chiuri, the Creative Director of Dior, this Spanish-inspired collection is about a journey of discovery and reflection. The spectacular backdrop is perfectly synonymous with the garments displayed, while flamenco dancers perform throughout the show. The presentation echoes the history of the House and its desire to seek out collaborations inspired by history and culture.
Across these pieces, an abundance of embroidery embellishes the garments. The hand-stitched delicate gold embroidery work stands out amongst the darker tones, carefully planned by a skilled team of embroiders.
We have been given exclusive access to the savoir-faire and making of these beautiful embroidered pieces. Scroll down to see more.

The new Valentino Rosso is a unique book that explores the world of the Maison through decades of archives and stories.
Valentino has revealed a new masterpiece in the form of a collectors book, that showcases and explores the personality of the iconic Rosso Valentino, the Maison’s renowned red colour, the most powerful recognizable symbol that took the name of its creator in 1985.
This Haute Couture book merges the history and pasts of Valentino archives with the designs of today, symbolising that the past is the present, and Valentino today is about now. The Volume, in collaboration with luxury publisher Assouline, explores more than 550 different palettes within the Maison’s creations, presented on delicate paper with string sewn through each page marking its presence.

This book also shows the evolution of the Rosso Valentino, as it presents itself in the roots of the Valentino Garavani designs until the new variations and hues that today’s Creative Direction Pierpaolo Piccioli plays with, demonstrated in the PP Pink Collection.
“This book it’s not a retrospective, not a celebration and it’s not even a didactic guide. It’s simply the way we work. Valentino Archive is an alive and pulsing ecosystem in which all of our treasures are ready to tell their own stories when interrogated. This time we wanted to know how many red dresses we have, how to present Rosso Valentino is in all of our creations. So this book, maybe, is an answer to that question, or the beginning of something more. What is sure is that none of that could have ever been possible without the incomparable genius of Mr Valentino himself and without the work, the dedication, the perseverance and the talent of every single seamstress and tailor that transformed our ideas into reality.” Pierpaolo Piccioli

This new title, Valentino Rosso, will be on sale in selected bookstores as well as on the Assouline website and in Assouline and Valentino boutiques worldwide by Autumn 2022.

Zenith joins LVMH and group Maisons in Paris for the 2022 edition of Viva Tech, unveiling a new Chronomaster capsule collection with straps made of excess high-fashion textiles.
As Viva Tech, Europe’s most prominent start-up and tech event comes to Paris, Zenith joins the LVMH group to showcase their latest sustainable innovation. The Viva Tech event was held between the 15th and 18th of June gathering industry leaders from many segments around the globe.
At this year’s event, one of the main themes was “tech on the edge”. The theme highlights companies and start-ups, that seek novel solutions to make their innovations more responsible and mitigate their environmental impact.

For Zenith’s new Chronomaster capsule collection, the watch brand has teamed up with Nona Source, a start-up incubated by LVMH’s DARE (Disrupt, Act & Risk to be an Entrepreneur) program. Nona Source is the first online resale platform that allows creators to easily shop the most exclusive unused luxury fabrics, giving them a second life and contributing to sustainable fashion.
Zenith first began this partnership at the start of the year when the first collection of lavishly refined straps was developed with Nona Source for the DEFY Midnight women’s watch line. This second collaboration brings sustainable innovation to the men’s Chronograph collection. Measuring 20/16mm, these straps are compatible with all novelties of the Chronomaster Sport and Open collections and are available in three distinct colours; Deep Dive, Rifle Green and Pale Marigold.

This sustainable innovation is now available exclusively at Zenith boutiques.
Gucci presents the third act of Hortus Deliciarum, the High Jewellery collection designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, and a new campaign for the launch starring Jessica Chastain.
Composed of unique pieces divided into five themes, the Creative Director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele has designed the third instalment of the Gucci High Jewellery collection 2022, titled ‘Hortus Deliciarum.’ This collection brings together cultures, in past and present times existing side by side, a dream-like journey, discovery of the rarities and history of each moment.
The story of these pieces moves from one to another in a magnetic attraction of the landscapes and precious stones. Miniature images of the destinations are presented amidst the colours of emerald, aquamarine, rubellite, spinel, morganite and amethyst. This fairy-tale world is formed in which the Creative Director immerses himself in the will of a traveller who wants to know and study the world taking shape before his eyes.
Take a journey with us, as we explore these five enlightening pieces in more detail and gather the jewellery souvenirs from each moment in the travel diary.

In the first theme, the idea of a Grand Tour is developed as we arrive in Italy, symbolizing a journey that European aristocrats and intellectuals undertook through continental Europe. A set of unique micro-mosaic pieces, made between 1850 and 1870, bring to this collection the precious nature of the product and the historicity of the typical Roman landscapes they show. The set depicts such locations as the Colosseum, the Temple of Hercules and the waterfalls at Tivoli.
The story continues from Rome, where we journey as far as India of the Maharajah to the magnificence of the eclectic architecture of the royal palaces and the lush nature of the gardens. Through the next three themes, we travel through time, Greek myths impart, a new world of skyscrapers soar in the 1930s and 1940s, and for the final destination, we finish in the 1970s, pop culture and free self-expression.

To tell the story of these pieces, Gucci presents a vivid cinematic campaign featuring Oscar-winning actress and film producer Jessica Chastain. Chastain inhabits an elegant and eccentric character who wears the High-Jewellery pieces as souvenirs of her travels, a collector of fashion, art, and experiences.

Loro Piana launches La Dolce Vita, a collection that is an ode to nature and the simplicity of an Italian summer by the coast.
In the latest enhancement to the Loro Piana summer 2022 collection, the clothing translates the Italian summer through its pieces. Enchanting and timeless, inspired by nature with classic Loro Piana DNA, and a nod to nautical, the clothes and accessories are light and versatile, for those who enjoy carefree moments and the freedom of summer days by the sea.
An exclusive addition to this collection, inspired by the little Sicilian archipelago and the classic 70’s straw bucket bag is the new Eolian Basket. This basket delivers the highest-quality materials of regenerated hand-woven organic cotton, using the ancient technique of braid stitching, and is a perfect synthesis of craftsmanship and sustainability.

Whilst the cream cotton braiding reflects nautical traditions of boating rope knots, pops of colourful calfskin are added to brighten the design and give it personality. Available in two sizes, it is a perfect accessory to accompany a sailing trip as you discover islands around the coast.
Another debut is the women’s swimwear collection. This collection has been designed with comfort, movement and charm in mind, for those who engage in water sports and life on the sea. Loro Piana demonstrates an understanding that quality materials should not be sacrificed at any point as the aquatic jersey material is soft, structured and smooth on the skin.

Available in one-piece swimsuits and bikinis, the tones are warm and inviting, with coral, blue and emerald greens that embody the colours of the ocean and delicate charms, symbols of sailing life decorate the swimwear in a sophisticated manner.
Loro Piana explores the world of summer and Mediterranean sailing life. These collection pieces are available online at Loro Piana and in stores.

Dior is unveiling a collaborative capsule collection, the CD 1947 and Dior by Birkenstock, celebrating nature and gardens in honour of Christian Dior himself.
Dior is unveiling an exclusive new men’s capsule, CD 1947, as Kim Jones bridges the gap between the past and the present. 1947 was the year of the first Dior show and this collection has been inspired by the founding couturier’s love of nature. These creations feature sportswear cuts and advanced materials, each designed with the outdoors in mind, merging with the elegance of Dior DNA.
The apparel on offer reflects the pastel tones of nature, with soft powder blues, greys and beiges cut into T-shirts, shirts, sweatshirts and Bermuda shorts. Across the line, ‘CD 1947’ is embroidered onto ready-to-wear labels as an essential symbol of the collection. Accessories are included in the capsule, including a belt, bandana, bags and sneakers, and a jewellery series completes the wardrobe.

In addition to the apparel and accessories, Dior has curated a limited-edition gardening ensemble, complete with a folding leather seat, a leather-clad shovel and a rake, each specially designed with the finest craftsmanship.

In a further collaboration, Dior calls on the German shoe brand, Birkenstock, to embrace its style and combine the designs of the shoes with the patterns of nature. For the Dior Men’s Fall/Winter 22-23 collection, the fashion house and Kim Jones pay tribute to Christina Dior’s passion and love of flowers. Although we know him as a passionate fashion designer, Christian Dior spent his childhood studying flowers in the rose garden of his family home with his mother.
“Thankfully, there are flowers,” said Christian Dior. “I loved more than anything else to learn by heart the names and descriptions of flowers in the colour catalogs published by the vilmorin-andrieux house.” He said in his memoirs.

Joining forces with Birkenstock to honour the designer, the collaboration unveils new unique shoes, reinventing two of the brand’s iconic models, and embellishing them with delicate floral embroideries. Birkenstocks trademark shoes date back to as early as 1774, when the Birkenstock brothers set out to create orthopaedic footwear to support walking as nature intended. The two iconic designs that have been selected; are the Milano, a nature loves outdoor sandal, first launched in 1965 and the Tokio launched in 1987, a protective shoe for walking. The colour pallet of these shoes are in perfect unison with the CD capsule collection, bringing together a collection that truly honours the founder of the brand.

The CD 1947 capsule and Dior by Birkenstock are available to discover on Dior.com .
Giorgio Armani is installing a collection of photographs in collaboration with Magnum Photos, that reflects a mixture of journalism, art and storytelling.
Photography has always fascinated fashion designer, Giorgio Armani, and so, to coincide with the Milan Fashion Week, he has launched a series of photographs focused on colours, places and faces. Giorgio works in collaboration with Magnum Photos, an international photographic agency and a host of photographers to showcase these images.
The images are captured by photographers, some of whom have sadly passed away, and others who are still active in the industry today. Each of the photographers was selected due to their creative visions and their ability to capture stories through their camera lenses, each is united by a desire to explore reality, translating suggestions and emotions into images.

The spectrum is broad, enabling a variety of images to be captured, and stories to be told. We see Christopher Anderson’s China, focusing on people’s faces rather than architecture, and Olivia Arthur’s Dubai, seen through the eyes of a castaway who returns after fifty years to a city that has grown from a village into a megalopolis; a story many of us can relate to here in the UAE.
“Photography has always fascinated me because the emotion it inspires is very similar to the sense of surprise felt when observing reality from an unexpected point of view. In particular, I admire the work of the Magnum photographers, which I got to know when I myself began to see the world with new eyes. Colours, Places, Faces takes us on a colourful journey through worlds and cultures near and far, transfigured by each of the artists, through their own personal vision. It is the attention to reality that fascinates me about their photographs, which are never simple reportages and are all so different from each other”, comments Giorgio Armani.

With this exhibition, Giorgio Armani supports the projects of Save the Children, the international Organisation directed at improving the lives of the most at-risk children around the world.
If you’re travelling to Italy this summer, the installation is open to the public at the Armani Silos museum in Milan, from 19 June to 6 November 2022.
Luxury brand Gucci has collaborated with British singer-songwriter and actor, Harry Styles in its next playful capsule collection, HA HA HA.
Harry Styles first rose to stardom after being selected as a member of the British pop band ‘One Direction’. In more recent years, since the band split in 2015, Harry has pursued his own solo musical ambitions and has developed his own sense of unique style, influencing others in the fashion industry.
Over the years, Harry has built a friendship with the Creative Director of the Gucci Fashion House, Alessandro Michele and together the pair have created a new Gucci capsule collection that represents the landing place of an inventive two-person journey between the friends. The playful collection was revealed during the Milan Fashion Week and is designed to act as a herald of new visions of beauty, crafted with liberating codes that eliminate the ritual complexities of fashion.

The capsule is titled ‘HA HA HA’ and was smartly created as a joining of the first initials of their names; Harry and Alessandro and symbolizes the onomatopoeic sound of joy and laughter.
“Harry has an incredible sense of fashion,” said Alessandro Michele. “The idea of working together came to me one day while we were talking on the phone: I proposed creating a ‘dream wardrobe’ with him, starting from those small oddities that come together in childlike visions. We ended up with a mix of aesthetics from 1970s pop and bohemian to the revision of the image of the gentleman in an overturned memory of men’s tailoring.”

Jackets, coats, pants, shirts, and accessories are featured within the collection, with interesting prints, patterns and images that transport us to childhood memories and historic fashions. This collaboration is a clever fusion between the Gucci codes and Creative Director’s vision, and the singer-songwriter’s creative dreamworld.
Are you looking for some new accessories to add to your summer wardrobe? Whether you’re staying in the UAE or travelling for a vacation, we’ve rounded up the must-have luxury sunglasses that will help keep your eyes protected from the UV rays all summer long.
