Pierpaolo Piccioli revealed his latest collection for Valentino at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday. The Valentino L’Ecole collection for SS24 was a celebration of femininity, humanity and sensuality.

As the show notes which accompanied the new release explained “The skin itself becomes a fabric – skirts are abbreviated, both revelatory and permitting dynamic movement, while bold cuts open windows onto the body, allowing form to be reconsidered.”

Accessories were also key to this collection. “Accessories underscore the relationship between fashion and a woman, and her freedom,” the house declared.

In the collection, shoes were low, grounded, engaged with the body, and facilitated movement.

Meanwhile, the Valentino Garavani VLogo Moon bag was supple and malleable and moulded itself to the form of the body, the elliptical ‘V’ chain wrapping the wrist, fusing woman and garment.

Adding a further audio and visual dimension to the collection, multidisciplinary British artist FKA Twigs performed alongside the show. Explaining the choice of the artist and the performance style chosen, the house said “Her performances are always corporeal articulations of her work, fusing her music with dance and movement to place her own physicality at the center of her creative expression.”
