We reveal this season’s hottest trends and must-have wardrobe pieces for men, that will have you heading straight for the summer sun.

Prints

Bold prints are one of the biggest trends to hit the runway this year! Looking back, prints have always been a popular trend during the warmer months, which offer a great opportunity to experiment and reflect the colours of the season. In the past, subtle palm trees have been embroidered onto linen shirts and brands such as Versace and Louis Vuitton have used their signature monochromes and logos to create patterns in summer collections. This year though, patterns have exploded, and they are bolder and brighter than ever. Clashes of colour are combined with contrasting patterns in floral, tie-dye, zigzag, polkadot, check and many more, it’s all about wearing a daring combination with confidence. If you’re not a full head-to-toe highlighter pen pattern kind of person, then opt for more pastel shades or add patterned accessories to a plain outfit.

Statement Shoes

As the colours come out for summer, so does funky footwear. Using accessories can be a great way to make a style statement, especially when it comes to shoes. Whether it’s sliders at the beach, trainers at the mall or loafers for an evening meal, colourful shoes can be worn for any occasion. Why not opt for something with a brighter colour during the warmer weather and stand out above the rest. Both Versace and Dolce&Gabanna’s Spring/Summer collections feature a range of colourful sliders and trainers. We also love the Salvatore Ferragamo resort 22 Gancini slides in blue, they are a faultless addition to any holiday suitcase and can be worn perfectly to an evening dinner by the sea.

The Classic Polo

When we think of a polo shirt, there is one name that always comes to mind, Ralph Lauren. This brand is renowned for its classic polo shirts in a variety of colours and having one in your holiday wardrobe is an absolute must. Not only are they well-made, but they are versatile and can be worn with shorts for a casual look or a blazer for a smart evening dinner style. The polo shirt has been seen on the runway from other brands too this season and they have reimagined it in new ways. An easy way to add variety to this piece of clothing is to go oversized or textured, Ermenegildo Zegna has combined both of these in one of its Spring/Summer pieces and Fendi adds texture by using a green knit. Another choice could be to add some pattern, Bluemarble has several patterned polos in its collection this year, bringing back some vintage looks from the 90s.
