This week, Rihanna dressed in Gucci whilst out in New York. She carried a Gucci Fall Winter 2016-2017 black leather top handle shopper designed in collaboration with Gucci Ghost, also known as Trouble Andrew. Gucci designer Alessandro Michele worked with graffiti artist Trouble Andrew to tag bags, skirts, and even fur coats with the heritage GG monogram as part of their Gucci Ghost collaboration.
Michele said of the collaboration on Instagram: “Trouble Andrew is as much as Gucci as the brand is, the way he uses the logo of the company is by taking it to the streets, it is interesting how our language, started by a family in Florence nearly 100 yeas ago, can be something very contemporary.”
He added: “I took the most interesting things of @troubleandrew’s and I asked if I could re-customise them. I find it interesting that the GG pattern has made this circle around the world. I customised his work and he says I’m like a doctor who treats them, makes them better. He puts in his culture, I have mine. The two things together are good. Diversity always produces something interesting.”
