Oman’s most popular designer Amal Al Raisi has re-launched her line Dar Al Aseel for Ramadan 2016, which compliments her spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection.  Her fashion show was held at Muscat’s luxurious Al Bustan Palace. The event was presented by Mercedes-Benz and members of the Oman Royal family included: HH Dr. Khawla Julanda Al Said, HH Sayida Hujaija Al Said, HH Dr. Basma Al Said, as well as HE Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Admiral of the Royal Omani Navy, who were seated in the venue’s ornate arabesque interior.

For the Ramadan 2016 collection, guests were given a exclusive preview of seven traditional Omani dresses which were inspired by the seven regions of Oman. Models were adorned with unique, luxury pieces from Jawahir Oman Jewellery and elements of Omani artist Reem Al Suwaid were highlighted by models wearing sheilas designed by the fabulous artist.

Amal (pictured above) revealed she wants to do for Oman fashion what Elie Saab did for Lebanon. Inspired by the Lebanese designer, her current collection showcased alternative abayas and floaty long kaftan-style dresses. Long tops and shorter elegant dresses were worn over chic trousers in soft shades of pretty pastel hues, such as delicate rose, light washes of greys and subtle blues. The designer, Al Raisi said: “The reason behind the rebrand is I wanted to cross the borders – there will be short skirts, long dresses, short dresses, so any woman in any part of the world can wear these pieces.”
