Fashion legend Giorgio Armani is finally getting acknowledgement for his contributions to his industry with a prestigious gong from The British Fashion Council.

Since launching his eponymous label in 1975, Giorgio Armani’s contribution to fashion has been nothing short of genius.

The iconic Italian designer – under whose name umbrella brands such as Emporio Armani and Armani Prive also thrive – has been admired by up-and-coming designers for decades for his perfect marriage of creative innovation and marketing and business savvy.

It’s the reason why his brand has never really fallen shy of being one of the most successful and recognisable names of high fashion.

So it sounds only right that the 85-year-old is finally getting rewarded for his contributions to the fashion industry, further cementing his already almost unshakeable position within it.

Ahead of the award ceremony on December 2nd this year, The British Fashion Councils’ CBE Caroline Rush said: “We are thrilled to be honouring Giorgio Armani with the Outstanding Achievement Award. With more than four decades in the business, Mr Armani’s contribution to the fashion industry is indeed outstanding.

“Renowned for his timeless vision of style and the brands’ ability to stay relevant, he has led the way where other brands have followed. We look forward to celebrating with him in London in December.”

Well deserved, Mr Armani,
