Hugo Boss Pre-Loved: A Commitment To Circularity

Hugo Boss is taking the next step in retail sustainability as it invites customers to buy pre-owned items as if they were new. We find out all the details and how to be part of the Hugo Boss pre-loved commitment.

With the launch of a premium online resale platform later this year, Hugo Boss customers will be able to return used items in exchange for online or in-store credit, which can be used towards purchasing new or pre-owned items.

Once fully quality checked, the pre-owned apparel will become part of a curated second-hand assortment for sale on Hugo Boss Pre-Loved, ready to begin a second life in a new wardrobe. The pre-loved service will initially feature clothing, with accessories planned to be added in the future.

In another step to further extend the lifecycle of its products, Hugo Boss will launch a care and repair service in selected German stores, with more key markets to follow.

“Hugo Boss Pre-Loved will support our move towards a circular business model, while our repair service will allow customers to wear their favourite pieces for even longer and reduce consumption of scarce resources,” said Heiko Schäfer, Chief Operating Officer of Hugo Boss.

Globally, resale is a fast-growing market that reduces the environmental impact of the fashion industry. These two initiatives bring Hugo Boss closer to its sustainability and CLAIM 5 ambitions, which include the goal that eight out of ten products are circular by 2030.

The service will be first launched in France in the third quarter of 2022, with the platform planned to expand to Germany, the UK, and the U.S. in 2025.

If you’re travelling to France later this year, make sure to check out the launch, meanwhile, we will be keeping our fingers crossed for a launch in the Middle East.
