For Giorgio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2022-23 collection, the designer adds light and beauty to his signature style.
Giorgio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2022-23 collections were presented in an intimate setting in Milan. The small venue evoked the personal feeling of a jewellery box, as Giorgio Armani looked again to the key signs and signatures that identify his style. Softness, fluidity and elongated silhouettes gave a sense of movement combined with the elegance of precise construction.
For women, the collection was chic, poised and understated. A combination of textures and finishes offered an elegant glow. Armani envisioned a hand-painted portrait, with precise attention to detail and a harmonious colour palette.
Thanks to the setting, each piece sparkled, enhanced by the silvery lights and brilliant colours that danced around the room, creating an almost out-of-this-world experience.
Armani’s passion for Art Deco can also be seen throughout, with a nod to the geometric lines and the timeless modernity of the movement. Highlight pieces included clean-cut trousers and matching jackets and elements of faux fur, and velvet which offer a glistening reflection.
Evening dresses and suits feature embellishments and embroidery which further reflect the light. Velvet bags and over-the-knee boots give a sultry touch to each look.
This same glow is present throughout the men’s offering, where soft formality and a relaxed silhouette lead the way. Fluid jackets and trousers are a solution for comfortable tailoring, something we have seen more and more over the past few seasons.
Tailored looks are paired with a white shirt and tie, somewhat of a uniform for the season. Velvet is once again used in menswear are well as soft cashmere and fluid silks, adding a comfort element to even the smartest looks.
This timeless style will transcend seasons and highlights the brand’s key values. A colour palette of deep navy, intense grey and notes of green is both elegant and stylish. Accessories come in the form of lug-shoes and architectural bags.
