On a hunt for kaftans or abayas with a modern and feminine focus? Look no further than Oman-based brand Buthaina.

Buthaina Al Zadjali started her label in 2010, creating hand-embellished pieces that are inspired by eastern and western influences. Driven by love for art, she frequently works with patterns and colours to find new ways to recreate ancient Omani techniques.

Her SS18 Ivory Ocean collection is inspired by Morocco and fuses traditional styles and earthy colours with artisanal hand embroidery. Referencing the natural beauty and diverse heritage of Morocco, the pieces evoke an elegant bohemian charm.

The colour palette consists of soft shades of ivory with highlights of ocean blue while the silhouettes are fluid and light in kaftans and jalabiyas featuring capes, tiered layers and fluted sleeves.

Gold chords are intricately hand embroidered on natural fabrics recreating Moroccan inspired patterns, while crystals and metallic threads add a bespoke finish.
