Max Mara Introduces the Ready Icon Coat

Max Mara has unveiled the Ready coat, a new addition to its outerwear offering that places the house’s signature camel hair at the centre of a design defined by understated elegance, considered tailoring and everyday versatility.

Conceived around the simple act of fastening a belt in front of a mirror, Ready explores the relationship between clothing and confidence. The gesture of tying the belt at the waist becomes a moment of preparation, bringing the silhouette into focus and offering a sense of assurance before stepping out into the world. For Max Mara, the coat represents more than a functional wardrobe staple: it is an expression of personal identity and the confidence to take centre stage in everyday life.

Ready joins the house’s established belted Manuela coat, while introducing its own distinct design language. Whereas the iconic Manuela is crafted from lined pure camel hair, the new model is made from double-faced pure camel hair, offering a different interpretation of the material that has become synonymous with Max Mara’s outerwear.

Its raglan cut creates a balance between tailored precision and relaxed volume, with the silhouette designed to accommodate a range of proportions. The result is a coat intended to feel effortless while retaining the refinement associated with the Italian fashion house. Designed for both women and men, Ready also reflects a contemporary approach to dressing, in which versatility and individual expression take precedence over rigid distinctions.

The new design extends beyond fashion, inspiring the creation of the bottle for Max Mara Le Parfum. Translating the coat’s defining details into an object of fragrance, the bottle incorporates references to its distinctive construction and signature finishing. An emblematic camel-coloured belt, complete with stitching inspired by the coat, wraps around the bottle, while gold accents introduce a polished finish. A button positioned atop the spray cap provides a further nod to the garment’s design codes.

The connection between the coat and fragrance brings Max Mara’s aesthetic into a new context, uniting fashion and beauty through a shared visual language. Both objects centre on the same considered details, from the belt that defines the coat’s silhouette to the finishing touches that distinguish the perfume bottle.

With Ready, Max Mara continues to build on the enduring appeal of its outerwear heritage, introducing a new interpretation of the belted camel coat. Combining pure camel hair, relaxed tailoring and recognisable house signatures, the design arrives with a clear proposition: a modern icon, ready to be worn.
