Tailoring is hardly revolutionary for autumn, but FW26’s suits have considerably more attitude.

Forget the oversized blazer thrown casually over a T-shirt: this season’s tailoring is precise, powerful and deliberately imposing.

The mood owes plenty to the corporate dressing of the 1980s and 1990s, with strong shoulders, pinstripes, slate grey wool, fitted jackets and immaculately pressed trousers.

It is power dressing in the most literal sense.

After years of relaxed suiting, fashion is once again embracing the idea that getting dressed for business can mean looking decidedly like you mean business.
