Every year, since 2001, the world waits with baited breath for the glittering Victoria’s Secret Show. The finale look always showcases an exclusive bra design by world-renowned luxury jeweller Mouawad, which is possibly the highlight of the show.
Last November 2015, Victoria’s Secret Show featured the Fireworks Fantasy Bra designed exclusively by Mouawad. Stunning American Angel Lily Aldridge, who has been a Victoria’s Secret model for years, sauntered down the runway in Mouawad’s bejeweled and elaborate creation, revealing her slender and shapely figure for the eager audience. Other new faces to the show included models Kendal Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Leomie Anderson and Megan Puleri.
However, this was the first time Lily has been given the prestigious honour of wearing a Victoria’s Secret Fantasy Bra. She has followed in the footsteps of top supermodels who have sported the Mouawad Fantasy Bras over the years; they include Heidi Klum, Karolina Kurkova, Tyra Banks, Selita Ebanks, Gisele Bündchen, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio.
The Fireworks Fantasy Bra is valued at $2 million. The matching belt and bra took more than 685 hours of labour to be handset with 6,808 dazzling precious gems totaling 1,300 carats, including diamonds and swirling strings of blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz all set in 18-karat gold.
Victoria’s Secret supermodels were also adorned with Mouawad’s exquisite masterpieces. The jewels, valued at $15 million, were specifically selected to compliment the intricate designs and respective theme of the lingerie worn by each model.
The Fantasy Bra by Mouawad will be displayed at the Mouawad boutique in Dubai Mall on Thursday 14th and Friday the 15th January.
