Renowned Lebanese fashion designer Rami Kadi continues to expand his creative universe beyond couture. Following his successful debut with Belvedere Art Space in Dubai, he now presents Blooming Universe, his second solo exhibition with the gallery, held in Beirut in collaboration with Diana Ghandour Studio. With this new body of work, Kadi further explores his vision as an artist, marking a pivotal moment in his evolution from visionary designer to multidisciplinary creator.
Reflecting on their first encounter with Kadi’s art, Nour Jarmakani and Aal Chammaa of Belvedere Art Space share, “When Rami walked into our gallery in Dubai and showed us his first piece, we immediately knew that his work would be exceptional. Rami has an extraordinary ability to translate craftsmanship into emotion, and emotion into art — a true testament to his creative genius.”

When asked how the decision to expand into creating art came about, Rami Kadi shares, “I’ve always wanted to create art pieces, but I never really had the time. Between fashion weeks, the collections, and the wedding seasons, it was always a non-stop cycle. Then last year, during October, when the war started in Lebanon, I found myself abroad with a lot of unexpected free time. It gave me space to pause and reflect, and that’s when I decided it was the right moment to create something different. I started experimenting, and one piece led to another. That’s how it all began.”
Kadi’s journey into the art world feels both organic and inevitable. His vision as a designer finds a natural continuation in his artworks, carrying forward the same meticulous attention to detail, narrative, and emotion that define his couture. “Honestly, it comes very naturally,” he explains. “I’ve always seen couture as a form of art; it’s about storytelling, emotion, and craftsmanship. So when I started creating art pieces, it felt like an extension of what I already do, just on a different canvas. The same attention to detail, the same handwork, the same energy — but instead of dressing a body, I’m dressing a space, a canvas.”
When asked to describe his work in just a few words, Kadi smiles and answers, “emotional, happy, eclectic, textured, and full of light.” Through Blooming Universe, Kadi explores the eternal cycle of bloom, metamorphosis, and renewal, themes that mirror both his personal evolution and his artistic rebirth. His seamless transition from fashion into art demonstrates his ability to translate emotion into form and vision into matter, reaffirming his place as a creator who moves fluidly between worlds.
