Saint Laurent Rive Droite New York is currently hosting an exhibition by American artist Brandon Morris until the 16th of November 2026, coinciding with New York Art Week.

Curated by Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello, the exhibition features a new body of sculptural works commissioned by Vaccarello in response to the lace dresses from the house’s Winter 2026 women’s collection.
Born in San Diego in 2000 and now based in New York, Morris studied fashion design at Parsons School of Design before turning to sculpture. His practice explores the transformation of materials including leather, nylon and fibreglass, examining how garments might exist independently of the human body.

The exhibition builds on Morris’ Ghost Dresses series, in which clothing is transformed into hollow, freestanding sculptures that suggest human presence through absence. For this latest commission, the artist uses fibreglass cloth silkscreened with lace patterns and hardened with tinted resin to create elongated, ghost-like figures. Distorted gestures and expressive poses give the works a more theatrical character, translating the silhouettes and textures of the original garments into sculptural forms.

The project follows Morris’ exhibition Tissu Expansé in Paris and extends his investigation into the relationship between clothing, the body and individual expression. Rather than presenting fashion as something worn, his sculptures preserve the suggestion of a body while leaving the space within each garment empty.

Three works in the exhibition have been developed in direct relation to vintage furniture sourced by Morris. Conceived as integral components of the sculptures rather than as display fixtures, the pieces of furniture allow the figures to adopt more relaxed postures. The interplay between sculpture and furniture further explores how gesture and positioning can convey a sense of individuality without a visible human subject.
Morris’ recent solo exhibitions include Tissu Expansé at EUROPA in Paris, Actress at EUROPA in New York, Cathedral Junkie at Pangée in Montréal, and Cats Live in Loneliness then Die like Falling Rain at Gern En Regalia in New York.
