This December Il Gattopardo is set to arrive on Dubai’s culinary scene ICD Brookfield Place.
Set on the 51st floor, the exquisite Italian restaurant promises a dining experience that blends Italy’s timeless elegance with the glamour of Dubai, embodying the luxury of the Italian Riviera.
From lunch through to late-night soirées, Il Gattopardo promises to offer an escape, transporting guests to the sultry sophistication of 1960s Italy, inspired by the classic novel “Il Gattopardo” (“The Leopard”).
An ode to the Italian novel, the moment guests step inside they will be greeted by an opulent leopard sculpture.
The restaurant’s design is the work of acclaimed interior designer and artist Lázaro Rosa-Violán, who brings together the cosmopolitan energy of Milan and the inviting warmth of Venice.
The space is a celebration of Italian heritage, infused with mid-century glamour. Glossy wood and chrome accents, leopard patterns, and clouded cathedral glass partitions are reminiscent of classic Italian antiques, creating an intimate yet open atmosphere. Each element reflects the discerning charm of Italy’s legendary designers, paying homage to Gio Ponti’s geometric elegance and Carlo Scarpa’s architectural ingenuity.
As diners settle into their tables, they will be treated to one of Dubai’s most breathtaking views. With lowered dining spaces that offer panoramic vistas of the city’s glittering skyline, including the iconic Burj Khalifa, Il Gattopardo effortlessly combines a sensory feast of flavours, views and ambience.
At the helm of Il Gattopardo’s kitchen is Executive Chef Massimo Pasquarelli, a native of Abruzzo with over 25 years of experience. Pasquarelli will bring to life a curated menu of modern interpretations of Italy’s classic dishes, taking diners on a culinary journey across Italy’s diverse regions. Using seasonal ingredients and emphasizing local produce, the menu is both elevated and authentically Italian.
The experience will begin with a selection of traditional Antipasti, such as delicate Arancini and Bufala mozzarella paired with marinated heirloom tomatoes. Signature Pizzette options, like the decadent Tartufo (truffle mascarpone, caramelized onions, and truffle shavings), will offer a taste of indulgence. Handmade pastas will feature prominently on the menu, with highlights like the comforting Sorrentina – homemade gnocchi with mozzarella, tomato, and fresh basil – and the luxurious Astice, a linguine dish served with native lobster and lobster reduction.
For those seeking something extraordinary, the Crudo Bar is a must-visit, serving delicacies like Gamberi – Sicilian Mazara prawns with citrus zest – and Spigola, a sea bass carpaccio with tarocco orange, fennel, and Creignola olives. Larger sharing plates, such as Milanese, Pollo Cacciatora, and saffron-laced Risotto, capture the true spirit of Italian dining: generous, comforting, and bold.
No Italian meal is complete without something sweet, and Il Gattopardo’s pastry offering promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Head Pastry Chef Galileo Reposo, whose career includes time at Michelin-starred restaurants, has designed a menu that showcases Italy’s finest desserts. Expect the restaurant’s Tiramisu to steal the show, alongside a playful take on the Roman favourite Maritozzo – fluffy brioche buns filled with rich chocolate custard and chantilly cream. The Coppa Gelato, an indulgent concoction of espresso ganache, vanilla, and hazelnut ice cream, offers a decadent finale to any meal.
