The MICHELIN Guide Abu Dhabi has unveiled its eagerly anticipated third edition, spotlighting the capital’s thriving gastronomy with several new additions, prestigious accolades, and special awards.
This year, all four Michelin-starred restaurants retained their coveted stars, while two new additions, Mika and ryba, received the Bib Gourmand award, celebrating exceptional quality and affordability.
The city’s top-tier restaurants—Erth, 99 Sushi Bar, Hakkasan, and Talea by Antonio Guida—each sustained their Michelin stars, reflecting the unwavering dedication of their culinary teams to culinary mastery. Meanwhile, newcomers to the Guide include Mika, a vibrant Yas Marina eatery known for Mediterranean flavors; Bord Eau by Nicolas Isnard, showcasing refined French cuisine; Em Sherif Sea Café, offering authentic Lebanese fare; Broadway, an American brasserie at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental; and ryba, a destination for grilled local fish at Al Mina Souq.
“Mika and ryba, recognized with Bib Gourmand status, offer remarkable value without compromising quality,” says Michelin’s International Director, Gwendal Poullennec. “Abu Dhabi’s gastronomic evolution showcases the city’s blend of tradition and innovation, promising a thrilling future for discerning diners.”
The Guide’s special awards this year underscore the dedication and passion of Abu Dhabi’s restaurant professionals. Chef Yasmina Hayek of Em Sherif Sea Café received the Young Chef Award for her dedication to preserving her family’s Lebanese culinary heritage, while Mika’s team was honored with the Welcome and Service Award for their hospitality under the guidance of Chef-Owner Mario Loi. Finally, ryba was named Opening of the Year, with inspectors praising Chef-Owner Faisal Mohamed Alharmoodi’s dedication to sustainable, locally sourced seafood.
As Abu Dhabi’s culinary scene matures, Michelin’s latest selections mark the city’s rise as a global culinary destination. With each passing year, the capital continues to attract a diverse array of talented chefs and innovators, ensuring that the city’s flavors will delight for years to come.
