Mixing Turkish heritage with a modern approach to craftsmanship, Kismet by Milka founder Milka Karaagacli creates fine jewellery that is equally iconic and delicate.
Using precious metal and diamonds, Karaagacli remains true to her Turkish heritage but uses oriental and urban influences, especially from Instanbul, to collate a timeless selection of pieces that can enhance any outfit. Paying particular attention to quality, her work has been spotted on the likes of Beyoncé, Madonna and Bella Hadid.
Karaagacli has a background in marketing and communications, but it was her grandfather who was in the jewellery business at the time that subconsciously installed a creative side when she was little. It wasn’t till she was reaching the end of her 14-year career in marketing that she realized that she wanted to do something else and began making gems as a hobby.
A fan of a simple style but with an edge, she likes asymmetry and never wears earrings as a pair – that’s why she sells them separately in across the world including Boom & Mellow in Dubai.
