Breitling has us all ready for summer with the new limited-edition capsule collection of its iconic SuperOcean Heritage ’57 watch. The SuperOcean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise Capsule Collection is all about colour with five new shades that will offer a stylish pop to your summer wardrobe. The 38mm stainless steel case features a rotating bezel and bold indices, making it the perfect summer accessory.

“This modern-retro tribute to the original SuperOcean is an exciting addition to the Breitling family of ladies’ watches. Of course, it’ll look great at work, but its fun-in-the-sun vibe might make you want to spend a weekend at the beach,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern.

Inspired by the rising popularity of seaside leisure in the 1950s and 1960s, the watches have a laid-back sunny mood with a colour palette that evokes, joy, relaxation and a lot of fun. The colours include summer white, aquamarine, mint green, and iced latte – all with tone-on-tone dials, bezels, and straps. The hero piece is the rainbow tangerine version. With hour markers and hands coated in Super-LumiNova®, it sings in hues of yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red, and orange. If you want a custom colour combination, you’ll love the quick-exchange system for swapping out the luxe Saffiano calfskin leather straps, which also come in lemon and raspberry sorbet. At the heart of each watch beats the COSC-certified Breitling Caliber 10 with a power reserve of about 42 hours and all of the watches are water-resistant up to 100 metres.

On why they decided to launch this collection, CEO Georges Kern said; “of course the watch industry is not the fashion industry, our products are much more long-lasting, but I think the watch industry became much more fashionable. The second aspect is that we thought everyone needed some colour and some fun after the COVID-19 situation and our design team loved this pastel collection. I think combining the old design of the SuperOcean Heritage ’57 and modernising it in the way we did creates something extremely special.”

With the launch of this collection Breitling introduces a moodboard challenge game with its partner DREST, the world’s first interactive luxury fashion mobile game. This highly immersive game puts players in the role of fashion stylists choosing clothing and accessories from over 200 leading global fashion brands. Breitling began its partnership with DREST earlier this year. Of the decision to partner with the fashion gaming concept CEO Georges Kern said; “as an industry, you cannot think in silos because our consumers don’t think like that. Someone who’s interested in watches is also interested in cars, or sports, fashion etc. so you have these transversal interconnections anyway. Now the question is ‘how can we as a brand amplify our message. in these different silos’?’ Fashion is a key element and we needed to find the right way of doing it because our products are not fashion products but our industry has become more fashionable. So what we have to look at the future. This is what we love about DREST because it is a platform combining different elements – fashion, gaming – and it also reflects the real woman and society we live in today and this combination that makes it special and that’s why we are so happy to be working with them.” As with all the other fashion items featured in DREST, there is the option for users to seamlessly shop the Breitling pieces they have played and competed within the game – creating a fun and interactive modern-day shopping experience.

The third Breitling–DREST mood board challenge goes live on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. GMT, and will run for three days (72 hours). Join the challenge here.
