SIHH 2018 Kicks Off With A Grand Blooming Event In Geneva

Last night January 14th, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2018 kicked off with a festive event set up in downtown Geneva at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices on the banks of the Rhone.

 

 

Known to be the world’s finest jewel case, the SIHH President Fabienne Lupo, along with the Councillor of Canton of Geneva Pierre Maudet, Mayor of Geneva Rémy Pagani, hosted 35 CEOs of various watch houses, with more than 400 guests, clients, collectors, press along with local personalities, all gathered to celebrate the world of Fine Watchmaking in a joyful spirit.

 

Guests were welcomed by “Musique à Rollers”- young musician crowd preforming an acrobatic act on roller skates with extraordinary musical techniques. The “Peretuum Jazzile” took center stage with a beatbox choir, known to be the world’s most spectacular vocal groups.

 

 

Fabienne Lupo, Pierre Maudet and Rémy Pagani welcomed their guest with speeches and the evening ended with a special family photograph, including all 35 CEOs standing alongside the SIHH board members to celebrate an unforgettable moment.

 

Dinner was served by five Swiss and French chefs all based on the four seasons theme, all of which was staged amongst wonderful floral decoration.

 

 

The SIHH is of course the first watch show of the year, serving to take the industry pulse and shape the major trends that will punctuate the watchmaking year. It is also an exceptional showcase, as much by the exclusive nature of its exhibitors and their masterpieces, as by the quality of its infrastructures.

 

The 28th edition will run from January 15th to 19th 2018, the SIHH will display a successful exhibition featuring 35 watch Maisons with no less than six new arrivals, including Hermès on the list. It is said that 20,000 visitors are expected to attend this 2018 edition that will share the great opportunity to discover the Fine Watchmaking world in an exclusive and interactive settings.
