Dior unveils two new timepieces for women this summer. Both elegant and feminine they will allow you to dream and bring some much-needed colour and vibrancy into your life.
Dior Grand Bal Masqué
The Dior Grand Bal collection has a beautiful new addition in the form of Dior Grand Bal Masqué. These colourful one-of-a-kind pieces are inspired by the enchanted universe of the masked ball, something that is very close to the house’s heart.
The famous Ball of the Century, held by Charles de Beistegui in 1951 at the Palazzo Labia in Venice, for which Monsieur Dior had designed several sumptuous costumes, was the most extravagant society ball of its time. That celebration, the quintessence of audacity, elegance and excessiveness, left a deep and inspiring impression on Monsieur Dior, fascinated since forever by the world of parties and society balls, an influence that has been seen throughout his designs in the years since. “It was the most beautiful evening ball I have seen or ever will see”, wrote Christian Dior in his memoirs.
With the new Dior Grand Bal Masqué timepieces this beautiful event comes to life once again as part of the iconic Dior Grand Bal collection. Dancing masks are seen on the dials of these exquisite pieces, bringing colour and vibrancy to the wearer. These pieces are star-studded with gold and diamonds, while the lines of sapphires highlight the eyes of the mask and their lashes are adorned with silky, colourful feathers.
The cheeks are blushed with ornamental stones whose sparkling reflections make the masks swirl and embrace the light, like they are dancing at a party. At the heart of this wondrous waltz of colours, a mysterious golden-faced woman hides her secret identity whilst daring to be extravagant…
The Dior Grand Bal Masqué timepieces are equipped with an automatic movement, exclusive to the Maison Dior, the “Dior Inversé 11 1/2 calibre”, featuring the functional oscillating weight on the top side of the dial, that reproduces the swirl of a ball gown. Each piece has an elegant 36mm dial and its dotted with diamonds and gemstones with an embossed satin strap. The collection consists of 12 on-of-a-kind pieces.
La Mini D De Dior Satin 19mm
Dior’s timepieces have long been inspired by the mastery of Haute Couture and the designs from within the house. The satin ribbon has long been a part of Dior’s fashion collections and this idea has seamlessly passed through to Dior’s timepieces with the La Mini D De Dior Satine 19mm watch. A design based on a satin ribbon, this jewellery watch features a Milanese mesh steel bracelet that has full flexibility to ensure its shine and glow like a real metallic fabric.
The new versions of this watch are adorned with a steel bezel delicately elaborated with a textured pattern. Each piece comes with delicate dials in white or pink mother-of-pearl and precious crowns set with diamonds. These feminine watches bring together the know-how of Swiss watchmaking with the poetic universe of Dior fine jewellery to create something that is understated, feminine and beautiful.
The two designs feature a 19mm quartz movement, the first with steel, diamonds and white mother-of-pearl and the second with steel, diamonds and pink mother-of-pearl. A Milanese mess stainless still bracelet and unfolding steel buckle make an elegant finish. Each piece is water-resistant up to 30 metres.
