UAE Public And Private Sector Holidays For 2024

As we look ahead to 2024, many people will be looking forward to planning time with loved ones over the country’s public and private sector holidays throughout the year. Some of the dates for the UAE holidays have been confirmed, whereas others are dependent on moon sightings throughout the year.

The dates officially confirmed according to the different calendars are: 

  • Monday the 1st of January 2024: New Year’s Day
  • Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3: Eid Al-Fitr
  • Dhu Al Hijjah 9: Arafat Day
  • Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to 12: Eid Al-Adha
  • Muharram 1: Islamic New Year
  • Rabi’ Al-Awwal 12: Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday
  • Monday the 2nd of December 2024: National Day
  • Tuesday the 3rd of December 2024: National Day holiday

Out of those dates which depend on a moonsighting, astronomers predict that it is likely that the following holidays will follow on or around the dates below. 

  • Monday the 8th of April 2024: Eid al Fitr holiday
  • Tuesday the 9th of April 2024: Eid al Fitr holiday
  • Wednesday the 10th of April 2024: Eid al Fitr
  • Thursday the 11th of April 2024: Eid al Fitr holiday
  • Friday the 12th of April 2024: Eid al Fitr holiday
  • Saturday the 15th of June 2024: Arafat Day
  • Sunday the 16th of June 2024: Eid al Adha
  • Monday the 17th of June 2024: Eid al Adha holiday
  • Tuesday the 18th of June 2024: Eid al Adha holiday
  • Sunday the 7th of July 2024: Islamic New Year
  • Sunday the 15th of September 2024: Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday
