From bridal whites and modern interpretations of Athena to the sculptural drama of Ashi Studio, Zendaya’s red-carpet wardrobe is designed to reveal far more than just a beautiful dress.
Zendaya knows how to make an entrance, but her red-carpet appearances increasingly invite closer reading. Working with her longtime stylist and image architect Law Roach, the actor has transformed promotional dressing into an extension of her films, building wardrobes around colour, character and carefully placed symbolism.
Wearing Ashi Studio at the premiere of Spider-Man: Brave New World
Her latest appearance offered a masterclass in the approach. Closing the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour in Los Angeles, Zendaya wore a look from Ashi Studio’s Fall/Winter 2026 Couture collection, “A Different Skin”. The black satin corset featured sculptural antennae, while sweeping pleats extended into an imposing architectural train. Styled with Boucheron jewellery, the gown subtly referenced the film’s arachnid universe without slipping into costume.
It was also the latest chapter in Zendaya’s growing relationship with Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi. Earlier in the tour, she chose a midnight black Ashi Studio gown in Mexico City, combining fluid silk with web-like embroidery and cascading glass tassels.
Euphoria Season Three premiere wearing Ashi Studio
In April, she attended the Euphoria Season Three premiere in a chocolate brown satin halter gown from the house’s Spring/Summer 2026 Couture collection. Minimal, backless and beautifully controlled, it revealed another side of Ashi Studio’s sculptural vocabulary.
The partnership feels particularly convincing because both Zendaya and Ashi understand the power of silhouette. His work can be restrained or theatrical, but it always possesses a strong visual identity, giving Zendaya and Roach space to create a narrative around each appearance.
The Drama premiere wearing Vivienne Westwood
That narrative became especially personal during the press tour for The Drama, a film centred on an engaged couple as they approach their wedding. Zendaya’s wardrobe explored bridal traditions through “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.” She rewore the white Vivienne Westwood gown she first chose for the 2015 Academy Awards, appeared in custom white Louis Vuitton and borrowed a black Armani Privé gown previously worn by Cate Blanchett.
The abundance of bridal white inevitably fuelled speculation about her own relationship with Tom Holland, particularly after Roach suggested that the couple had already married and Zendaya was photographed wearing what appeared to be a wedding band. Neither Zendaya nor Holland offered a formal confirmation at the time, leaving the looks open to interpretation.
The Odyssey premiere
For The Odyssey, Zendaya adopted an entirely different visual identity. Playing Athena, she appeared in ivory draping, sculptural metallic details and silhouettes inspired by classical dress. A custom Jacquemus column gown with an attached headscarf captured what Roach described as the “essence of Athena,” while a Schiaparelli couture creation featured a sculpted bodice resembling carved marble and a shimmering silver fringe skirt.
There were references for fashion historians too, including Alexander McQueen’s Spring 1997 couture collection for Givenchy, inspired by the myth of the Golden Fleece. Paired with an intricate gold Philip Treacy headpiece, the archival look transformed Zendaya into a commanding, contemporary interpretation of her character.
For Zendaya, every appearance has become more than just a spectacle. The real pleasure lies in discovering the details beneath it.
