The LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize will return in 2027 for its 10th edition, with Milan set to host the event during Milan Design Week.

The anniversary edition will include a prize ceremony on the 11th of April, followed by a major exhibition celebrating a decade of the international craft award, open from the 12th to the 28th of April.
Submissions for the 2027 prize remain open until the 15th of October. An expert panel will review entries and select a shortlist of 30 works, all of which will be exhibited in Milan. The judging criteria include originality, artistic vision and merit, precision of execution, material excellence, innovation and a distinct authorial mark

Established in 2016, the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize was first awarded in Madrid in 2017. Subsequent editions have taken place in cities including London, Tokyo, Paris, Seoul, New York and Singapore. The award was created to recognise excellence and innovation across contemporary craft, reflecting LOEWE’s origins as an artisanal workshop.
The prize encompasses a broad range of disciplines, with previous eligible categories spanning textiles, bookbinding, ceramics, jewellery, lacquer and paper, among other craft practices. Its 10th edition will mark a decade of recognising makers whose work demonstrates technical skill, creative vision and experimentation with materials.
The LOEWE FOUNDATION was established in 1988 by Enrique Loewe, a fourth-generation member of the Spanish fashion house’s founding family. Under the direction of his daughter, Sheila Loewe, it supports creativity, educational programmes and the preservation of cultural heritage across craft, art, design, photography, poetry and dance. In 2002, the Foundation received the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts from the Spanish government.
