Taller Marmo explores cinematic glamour for Fall 2026

Taller Marmo looks to the mystery of old Hollywood and the glamour of the early 20th century for its Fall 2026 collection, Noir.

Blending archival references with contemporary silhouettes, the Italian label presents an eveningwear wardrobe shaped by cinematic fantasy, intricate craftsmanship and a fascination with the past.

Drawing inspiration from the liberated decades of the 1910s, 1920s and 1930s, the collection brings together antique gold, historic motifs and archival textiles without leaning into nostalgia. Instead, these references inform a modern interpretation of elegance, with the collection unfolding against a backdrop of low light, long shadows and film noir atmospheres. Its enigmatic muses range from the elusive Dragon Lady to early Hollywood icons.

The kaftan, Taller Marmo’s signature garment, remains central to the collection, reimagined in slimmer, more fluid proportions. Asymmetric designs, floor-length styles, sculptural trapeze shapes and balloon hems introduce new variations, while kimono sleeves finished with generous fringes add movement. Dropped waists and soft volumes allow the garments to skim the body rather than define it, creating a relaxed approach to evening dressing.

Transparency is another defining element. Sheer gowns, sequinned tulle featuring reptilian motifs, feather-trimmed evening coats and minimalist slip dresses balance opulence with restraint. Textural contrasts further shape the collection, from double-face satin and silk and viscose velvet in midnight blue and antique bronze to metallic silk, Lurex organza and silver silk lamé.

Italian craftsmanship takes centre stage through exclusive fabrics woven in Como. Archival baroque damask silks, Kintsugi-inspired fil coupé and Art Nouveau botanical motifs appear across dramatic kaftans, evening gowns and silhouettes inspired by the 1920s. A standout detail is the collection’s iridescent, three-dimensional sequin embroidery, inspired by dragon scales. Applied to Hollywood-style gowns, sculptural mini dresses and full-length kaftans, the embellishment shifts with the light, reinforcing the collection’s themes of mystery and transformation.

Despite its historical references, Noir avoids the formality of period dressing. Its eveningwear draws on the liberated spirit of the Roaring Twenties while retaining an ease intended for the modern woman. The result is a wardrobe that favours suggestion over excess, balancing elaborate finishes with fluid shapes.
