Heading home for the holidays? You’re not the only one with this weekend expected to be the busiest for the Dubai airport.
According to reports, over 100,000 flyers expected to pass through Emirates terminal in just one weekend which means you packing and timing skills need to impeccable to make your scheduled departure.
On The Clock
During this peak time, get to the airport three hours before you’re due to take off giving you enough time to go through check in and customs. Make sure to also check the roads as multiple events around the city can delay you.
Beauty Of Online
Save yourself time and check in online. In most cases that can be done at least six hours before departure.
Get On The Scales
Nobody wants to be opening their suitcase on the floor at check in if the bag is over the weight limit. Weight your bags at home, try and minimise on toiletries at tech that tend to tips the scales over the edge – we are sure your mum has shampoo at home.
All In Hand
Next up is hand luggage. A lot of the delay happens at security so think in advance and divide or omit any liquids, have your laptop and other electronics in easy reach and avoid anything in your pockets – or just have everything in your jacket pocket that could bleep as you’ll have to remove it anyway.
Watch The Board
Once you’re in Duty Free, check how long it will take you to get to your departure gate and then you can stock up on snacks and last minute Christmas presents.
Happy travels!
