Here is our guide to the best men’s skincare products and scents on the market this season.

Sauvage Face Cleanser and Mask by Dior

This nifty two-in-one product is the latest addition to the Dior Sauvage men’s range. The face cleanser and mask is composed of 85% natural-origin ingredients, including cactus extract which is known for its exfoliating and purifying properties, and aloe vera flower extract which has been used for centuries for its ability to soothe and help heal the skin. The product also comes with a satisfying aromatic woody scent after use, which complements the eau de parfum in the same range. One of the highlights of this product is that it’s suitable for most skin types with or without a beard, leaving the skin feeling fresh, soft and clean. We recommend using it daily as a cleanser, and once a week working the product into a lather and applying it to your face and beard as a one-minute facemask, for a deeper nourishing treatment.

Age Defender Power Serum and Eye Repair by Kiehl’s

Kiehl’s Age Defender line is one of the most popular in their men’s skincare. The Eye Repair helps to visibly correct ageing skin around the eye to firm sagging, reduce the appearance of dark circles and resurface crow’s feet for a smoother, more youthful appearance. Three key ingredients in the cream are rye seed extract, which promotes firmness and smoothness, linseed extract which helps to reduce wrinkles, and blurring minerals to reduce dark circles and brighten the eye area. Meanwhile, the house’s Power Serum complements the effects of its eye cream. Used all over the face, the lightweight serum also helps to firm skin and reduce wrinkles, giving a more youthful appearance. For this product, Keihl’s has used cypress extract from La Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean, known to strengthen the skin. The second key ingredient is adenosine, which is derived from yeast fermentation and helps to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Rind Concentrate Body Balm and Protective Lip Balm by Aesop

These two products from Aesop complement each other perfectly. While the Rind Concentrate Body Balm keeps you moisturised from top to toe, the Protective Lip Balm offers special protection for your mouth. The body balm is ideal for the cooler winter months, with an uplifting citrus aroma (key ingredients include pink grapefruit, orange rind and lemon rind) as well as nourishing nut oil extracts to soften and smooth the skin. It’s great to apply after sun exposure too, and can be stored in the refrigerator as a soothing post-beach treatment. The Aesop lip balm can be used all day long, containing SPF 30, along with UVA and UVB filters. Key ingredients are Zinc, Vitamin E and castor seed which all help to protect the skin along with botanical oils to soften, hydrate and nourish.

Bal d’Afrique Hand Cream by Byredo

This exquisite hand cream is inspired by the house’s founder, Ben Gorham’s childhood memories of Africa. “ My father lived and travelled in Africa for about 10-15 years. I would read his diaries; the way he travelled on freight ships, met all kinds of different people… For me, this was the fantasy of arriving in Africa through somebody else’s words. Bal d’Afrique reflects that; it’s an imaginary journey as well as a complete celebration of how I see African culture and its influence,” he explains. The end result is a delicious product with top notes of African marigold, bergamot, and buchu and with base notes of Moroccan cedarwood and vetiver as well as cyclamen and violet at its core. This cream is perfect for throwing in your bag, to have it – literally and figuratively – on hand from the office to the evening.
