Armani Beauty has announced Saudi Arabian professional boxer Ziyad AlMaayouf as Giorgio Armani Middle East Fragrance Ambassador for I WILL Eau de Parfum, the brand’s newest men’s fragrance.
At 26, AlMaayouf is the first Saudi Arabian professional boxer to compete internationally. His career has included becoming the first Saudi boxer to secure a professional victory, competing at Madison Square Garden and making his home debut in Jeddah. He began boxing at the age of 11 before moving to the United States at 17 with the ambition of becoming the Kingdom’s first internationally recognised professional boxer and its first world champion.
AlMaayouf has trained under International Boxing Hall of Fame coach James “Buddy” McGirt, while his career has been marked by a series of milestones achieved while representing Saudi Arabia on the international stage.
According to the house, his appointment as Giorgio Armani’s Middle East Fragrance Ambassador connects his sporting career with the themes behind I WILL Eau de Parfum, which include determination, discipline, confidence and inner strength.
“I’ve always believed that what you start with should never define how far you can go. Everything I’ve achieved started with a dream of a future I imagined for myself and my motivation to make it my reality,” said AlMaayouf. “To represent Giorgio Armani and I WILL means breaking barriers, and that message is my story, having the courage to choose your own path, the discipline to stay on it, and the belief that you can create something that has never existed before.”
I WILL is Giorgio Armani’s first dark vanilla fragrance, created by Master Perfumers Alberto Morillas and Nathalie Lorson. The Eau de Parfum combines smoky vanilla with woody leather notes, creating a fragrance described by the brand as addictive, sensual and enduring. The story behind the scent is positioned around Giorgio Armani’s own determination to realise his vision of style.
