Johnny Depp teams up with the French beauty house once again as the face of the new Dior Sauvage Parfum for men.
When it comes to fragrance, the world of Christian Dior holds some of the most iconic scents with a long-lasting legacy in the industry – think Miss Dior and Hypnotic Poison for women or Dior Homme and Fahrenheit for men.
And of course, another classic from the perfumers is Sauvage, which launched in 2015.
The name – and scent – is a modern take on the debut male aroma from the Dior, Eau Sauvage, which launched in 1966.
Reinvented once again for 2019, this time the new parfum is more concentrated and intense, adding more depths to the aroma.
French perfumer François Demachy took inspiration in the wilderness of the wild outdoors when creating the scent, conjuring an image of fragrant woods crackling in the fire as the night sky reflects off nearby waters.
On the creation Demachy said: “Sauvage is an open-ended score. Its composition is so complex that you can add original perspectives by crafting it with subtle nuances. For this new Parfum, I imagined an intense freshness meeting the smoothness of an Oriental scent. I kept the powerful soul of Sauvage intact by giving it nocturnal accents, an animal attraction and some rounder facets.”
Notes include a dry amber core with a sage aspect emphasized by a leather accord, a sweet touch with Virginia Cedar takes you by surprise with an unexpected note of candied raspberry and creamy Sri-Lankan Sandalwood essence.
