Chanel brings warmth of the Mediterranean to SS18 Neapolis makeup range.
Chanel’s Global Creative Make up and Colour Designer, Lucia Pica, looked to her home city of Naples and the ever-changing landscape and history. It provided the mood for colours and techniques that offer a warm and rich approach to sunkissed beauty.
The name Neapolis – or ‘New City’ – reflects Naples’ origins as an ancient Greek colony clashing with contemporary lifestyle that Pica reflects in her choice of greens, yellows, golds, reds and blacks. She said: “My hope is that women will be open and spontaneous with colours. They are buildable, so you can wear a subtle wash of color or create a more intense effect.”
Central to the collection is the limited edition Les 9 Ombres eyeshadow palette. Get those summer flushed cheeks with the help of Joues Contraste blush in Foschia Rosa while the nails have a choice of pastel hues or bold shades of orange and yellow.
Our top pick is the Poudre A Levres – a tinted lip powder, inspired by the tempera technique of Pompeiian frescoes, mixed by hand and applied fresh to the lips every time you apply. Each palette contains a clear, moisturizing balm and a tinted pressed powder pigment. Using your fingertips, apply the balm to moisturize lips, then pat on the powder using one of the two applicators.
It’s never to soon to start planning your vacation beauty look. In stores worldwide as of January 2018.
