Hermes Showcases Collection Amongst A Spring Garden In Paris For SS24

Nadege Vanhee-Cybulski, Hermes’ artistic director revealed the latest collection amongst flora inspired by a French spring garden.

Power dressing came in the form of colour for this collection, while sensuality also was key for this new collection.

Meanwhile, the flora setting made its way into pieces in the show, with the Birkin, the Arçon, the Panier d’été, the Pochette d’été stuffed with bundles of grass.

The show by the well-known leather house, however, did not happen without some controversy. Animal rights protesters have been a consistent fix of Fashion Month this year, and Hermes also found themselves as a target.

A protestor took to the runway with a sign calling on the French house to stop using exotic animals – including ostrich and crocodile skins – in their products. Bryan “Bryanboy” Yambao, a fashion social media influencer then grabbed the sign from the protestor as they were escorted off the catwalk.

Following the show, Yambao told Reuters that he took the sign because “It’s rude to disrupt a show that people have been working on for months.”
