The Met Gala- is pretty much known as the most fashionable night of the year, where the famous faces of the fashion and art world come together, as they walk up the iconic stairs of Metropolitan Museum of Art in spectacle designs that won’t be soon forgotten. As usual, the night is concentrated around the theme of the new exhibition- “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”.
This year’s theme Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination is considered one of the most controversial themes ever showcased at the Met; promising to display holy artifacts alongside iconic fashion pieces. Feature 40 Vatican vestments and distinctive elements of the Pope’s ensemble; sacred pieces that have never left the Vatican’s possession before, like the Pope Benedict XV’s gold embroidered white silk cape and many others that will go on display alongside designer pieces such us Coco Chanel, John Galliano, and the exhibition’s main sponsor, Donatella Versace.
Here’s a roundup of our best dressed list straight from the red carpet, in the gallery above.
