Chanel has unveiled a series of photographs taken in Manchester by Jamie Hawkesworth.

The series reveals the first looks from the French house’s 2023/24 Métiers d’art show that it is holding today.

Under the creative direction of Chanel ambassador Sofia Coppola, the British photographer staged a group of young Mancunians in the first silhouettes of the collection by Virginie Viard.

Key pieces included a black T-shirt dress featuring an embroidered crest, and a fine velvet jersey sweater embellished with a pleated plastron which is dotted with tweed ribbons.

Jackets include multicolour Lesage tweed, woven with denim ribbons or bouclette threads in shades of pink with matching caps.

Meanwhile,  knitted looks in pastel tones rub shoulders with Chanel suits in shimmering nuances of pop red, mustard yellow and lilac.
