Dubai Fashion Week (DFW) opened its Spring/Summer 2027 edition with a showcase of couture, intricate embellishment and international design talent, as four distinctive collections set the tone for the event’s latest instalment.

Running until the 26th of October, it brings together regional and international designers reinforcing Dubai’s growing position as a global fashion destination.

Kuwaiti designer Yousef AlJasmi kicked off the SS27 schedule with his debut at DFW, presenting a collection defined by a sophisticated palette of black, cream and silver. Translating his creative instincts into striking silhouettes and refined detailing, the designs established an elegant mood for the season.

Sara Pedram followed with The Simorgh Collection, inspired by the mythical bird traditionally associated with strength and wisdom. The Dubai-based designer presented a series of elaborate couture gowns featuring delicate hand embroidery, floral artistry, hand-painted details and intricate embellishments, placing craftsmanship at the centre of the collection.

Indian designer Pallavi Puri also made her official DFW debut, presenting 50 looks across three chapters. The collection combined ornate embroidery and elaborate embellishment with the label’s signature equestrian influences and a fresh floral direction. Created by more than 150 artisans working across over 21 traditional art forms, the pieces highlighted the craftsmanship behind the house’s distinctive approach to couture. Indian supermodel Lisa Haydon and Lebanese actress Cyrine Abdelnour appeared as the show’s special highlights.

Meanwhile, Krésha Bajaj joined forces with Alok Lodha Jewels for The Garden of Borrowed Light, a collection exploring the transient qualities of movement, light and memory. Fluid silhouettes, complex beadwork, expressive embroidery and painterly floral motifs formed the foundation of the designs, complemented by statement jewellery featuring coloured gemstones. The collaboration also drew on the fine jewellery house’s heritage, which dates back to 1968.

Beyond the runway, DFW’s SS27 edition is supported by partners across beauty, hair, music, hospitality and production, including KIKO Milano, Schwarzkopf, Spotify and Delano Dubai.
