The highly anticipated Reem Acra’s Fall 2017 show took place this week at New York Bridal Week. The theme was ‘secret garden’ featuring pretty and ethereal gowns with intricate lace embroidery and voluminous, ball gown hemlines. Acra said: “We’ve seen the mermaid [silhouette]; we’ve seen the sexy [look]. This collection was about ball gowns.”
However, the collection did start off with a stunning selection of figure hugging dresses featuring plunging and off-the-shoulder necklines, delicate cap sleeves and bandeau details. These fairy-tale inspired dresses featured peplums, beautifully structured corsetry and semi sheer details. We especially liked the lace gown with a subtle lavender skirt – a very interesting and different palette to the typical white bridal gowns we are used to seeing. Reem Acra’s Fall 2017 Bridal show was a stunning mix of ethereal curve skimming dresses and fairy-tale esque ball gowns fit for a princess.
