Hermès Spring/Summer 2027 collection takes inspiration from the movement and weightlessness of air, translating the invisible element into fluid silhouettes, innovative materials and adaptable summer pieces.

Titled “The Shape of Air”, the collection is defined by garments that appear to move with the wearer. Hems lift, sleeves fill and vents open, creating a sense of movement as air passes between the body and fabric. The result is a wardrobe designed around lightness, freedom and ease.

The house combines technical construction with delicate textures to explore new approaches to summer dressing. Gauzy openwork knits appear almost immaterial, while leather is transformed into a graphic lattice of fine strips embroidered onto mesh. The technique is cut with the precision of a Japanese stencil, giving the material an intricate, lightweight quality.

Versatility is central to the collection, with modular designs allowing silhouettes to be adjusted according to movement and temperature. Cords and belts alter volume, while functional details create new ways of wearing individual pieces. A column skirt in Brise de Charme print silk can be unzipped to form sculptural draping, while wide trousers feature side zips that can be opened for ventilation, freeing the leg.

Outerwear is equally focused on lightness. Coats and jackets in ultra-fine calfskin are described as settling across the shoulders with the crisp texture of paper. Elsewhere, a silk pongee parka expands into a parachute-like silhouette, emphasising the collection’s focus on air and movement.

The colour palette follows the changing light of the day, beginning with the misty tone of bleu brume before moving into the stronger shades of sunset. Vivid orange and jaune tournesol evoke the final warmth of daylight, bringing together the collection’s recurring themes of skin, air and heat.

Across the collection, Hermès approaches summer dressing through materials and construction rather than decoration alone. Engineered essentials, breathable details and adjustable silhouettes give familiar wardrobe staples a new sense of mobility.

The result is a collection in which the boundary between clothing and atmosphere becomes deliberately blurred. Through openwork, ventilation, fluid shapes and fabrics designed to respond to movement, Hermès gives physical form to something inherently intangible: the sensation of air against the body.
