Milanese and British style have been brought together with a new collaboration between luxury houses La DoubleJ and Orlebar Brown.
Explaining the new collaboration, the notes which accompanied the announcement said “ After reconnecting at a mutual friend’s weekend party in the English countryside, La DoubleJ founder, J.J. Martin and Orlebar Brown founder, Adam Brown fused their collective brainpower to dream up a deluxe new spin on destination dressing.”
The result is the “Raise Your Vacation Vibration” collaboration, a high summer capsule comprised of 34 effortlessly elegant swimwear and ready-to-wear styles designed for all, arriving in three dazzling prints in a bold red, white and blue palette. Blending La DoubleJ’s power-printed, Italian feminine ebullience with Orlebar Brown’s sophisticated, masculine silhouettes, each piece in the line is designed to elevate your holiday state.
Discussing the new collection, J.J. Martin said: “This collection is really a true founder-to-founder brainchild. OB was looking to add a little more pizazz to their prints while we at LDJ were looking to absorb some of that “off-duty” elegance that they’re so well-known for. Although they might seem traditionally like “men’s” and “women’s” collection forged into one, all the pieces are really genderless, meant to be borrowed from your partner or your BFF’s closet while on holiday together. This is a true marriage of energies and aesthetics.”
Each of the three exclusive prints in this collection is designed by La DoubleJ and was inspired by deific energies to create a mood-boosting visual harmony between positive feminine and masculine characteristics: “Dragonflower”, a re-imagining of an iconic LDJ print, symbolizing the harmonious blend of strength and beauty; “Morpheus”, a romantic ode to the god of dreams; and “Whitsun” a beautiful botanical inspired by the king of flowers, used symbols of compassion and healing, immortality.
