Maison Margiela has unveiled “ANONYMITY”, a psychological thriller trailer starring Rebecca Hall as an actress confronting questions of identity.
The trailer introduces Maison’s Fall Winter 2026 collection, which arrives in stores and at maisonmargiela.com this week.
In the film, Hall’s character repeatedly encounters her masked double while preparing for a role, creating uncertainty over who is real.
For each encounter, the doppelganger wears the same look with a different Artisanal mask, created in the Maison’s atelier for its Fall Winter 2026 show in Shanghai in April.
Masks have been a foundational code of Maison Margiela since its first show, where they were used to direct attention away from the model and towards the clothes.
The Maison continues to use them to explore character and identity.
The collection draws on Edwardian silhouettes, destroyed tapestries, second skin pieces, fused garments and combinations of disparate materials.
Key pieces include fused Edwardian tailoring, tapestry dresses, second skin jerseys and Bianchetto separates.
Accessories include the new Link bag, chain link jewellery, floral and tapestry Tabi styles, the Tabi Claw, a thermoformed Box bag and a distressed tapestry print 5AC Soft bag.
