Matthieu Blazy continued to shape his vision for Chanel with the unveiling of the House’s Autumn/Winter 2026–27 Haute Couture collection, a poetic exploration of storytelling, craftsmanship and the enduring legacy of Gabrielle Chanel.

Titled Gaby and the Beanstalk, the collection drew inspiration from Les Fées, Contes des Contes, a fairy tale book from Gabrielle Chanel’s personal library. Blazy transformed classic tales, including Jack and the Beanstalk and Goldilocks and the Three Bears, into a sophisticated couture narrative, in which fantasy was woven seamlessly into the House’s iconic design language.

Signature Chanel tweeds were reimagined through delicate guipure lace and featherlight silk mousseline, creating a sense of lightness while preserving the precision of couture tailoring. Intricate embroidery, hand pleating and artisanal embellishments brought whimsical details to life, from buttons that evolved from ducklings into swans to miniature bear-shaped minaudières and embroidered vines climbing elegant heels.

Hidden silk linings, stitched charms and personal keepsakes concealed within garments celebrated the intimate relationship between couture and its wearer.

The collection also paid tribute to the extraordinary craftsmanship of Chanel’s Haute Couture ateliers and the artisans of le19M, where embroidery, pleating, millinery, goldsmithing and textile expertise came together in remarkable harmony. Despite its dreamlike inspiration, the collection remained grounded in wearability, with sculptural tailoring softened by fluid silhouettes designed for movement.

“Haute Couture at Chanel is not just a fairy tale; in essence it is for women, their realities and their adventures of the everyday,” said Blazy.

Balancing imagination with impeccable craftsmanship, the collection marked another confident step in Blazy’s evolving vision for Chanel, honouring the House’s heritage while writing an enchanting new chapter for its future.
