The summer is upon us which means it’s time to break out the no-fuss pieces that make you feel chic yet effortless. Nanushka has come across our fashion radar as an easy-to-wear and ultra-cool Hungarian label offering a number of functional and well-made garments that look beautiful and feel timeless. Founded by Sandra Sandor in 2005, and so-called after her childhood nickname, the contemporary label creates wardrobe staples that are subtly feminine and feature unexpected details.

Born and raised in Budapest, her my mother founded one of the first children’s wear businesses in Hungary. At 17 she realised her passion for designed and enrolled in London College of Fashion in 2005. Many of her pieces are inspired by travel with a mix of distant cultural references, like Western with Oriental. Creating pieces that make women feel confident with minimum effort has landed her an opportunity to present the most recent collection at New York Fashion Week earlier this year that featured polka dot dresses, separates in muted neutrals and silk blouses and skirts with button-down details.

The instant buzz around the label was quickly picked up by editors and major global e-tailers likes MyTheresa and Net-a-Porter and will see her back at NYFW next season. A-listers including Gigi Hadid and Charlize Theron have been spotted in her designs and we personally love her tiger-print pieces and striped trousers.
