It was a busy weekend of shows at New York Fashion Week SS19 with A-List spotting and trending moments on the catwalk.
A sense of wanderlust has been sweeping through the big city with brands like Tory Burch sending out pieces that make you desperately want to set off on you next voyage. For SS19, Burch was influenced by her parents many cruise tours of Italy, Greece and Spain and as a result we saw plenty of polished vacation dressing.
Self Portrait also presented something a little bit more boho and flowy for next summer, while Dion Lee showcased sensual tailoring and super fine lace with some of it being used as stuck on tattoos.
Noon by Noor kept it pretty and feminine with fresh white tones and demure silhouttes, while Jeremy Scott stuck to his wild side with logo plastered separates and sparkling over the knee boots – hello edgy Cinderella.
The highlight belongs to the one and only Ralph Lauren who hosted an extravagant runway and dinner in Central Park to celebrate 50 years of the brand. Every major celeb showed up including Oprah, Priyanka Chopra with fiancé Nick Jonas, Blake Lively, designer Michael Kors and even Hillary Clinton.
“For my 50th anniversary, I wanted to create and share a runway experience that was deeply personal and a summation of the style I’ve always believed in: personal, authentic, and forever, in a place so quintessentially New York and so special to me—Central Park,” said the designer.
Following the runway show, a seated dinner set around Bethesda Fountain transported guests to an elegant Parisian outdoor café, in a setting inspired by the sophisticated yet casual elegance of the courtyard at Ralph’s, Mr. Lauren’s celebrated restaurant on Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris.
Items from the 50th Anniversary Collection are immediately available at RalphLauren.com and in global flagship stores
Next up was Cartier who celebrated the opening of it’s Fifth Avenue mansion and latest installation Precious Garage. The likes of Zoe Saldana, Lily Collins and Suki Waterhouse were in attendance.
