Overnight Marc Jacobs announced the departure of John Targon after three months of directing the lower-priced goods for the brand.

The co-founder of Baja East was hired to reboot the more affordable pieces for the house, but his sudden exit came a few weeks into the job for reason yet unclear and we are still to learn whether his work will land in stores. The statement from the LVMH-owned brand said:

“John Targon is a talented designer and we appreciate the work he has done here. Ultimately working together did not make sense for the brand and we wish him the best.”

Targon was appointed after the arrival of former Kenzo chief executive Marechalle, who took over Marc Jacobs last autumn.
