Prince William, who is second in line to the British throne, will visit Jordan and the Palestinian territories in the occupied West Bank.
At the request of the government of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Cambridge will be the first senior British Royal to make an official visit to the region in the summer, which will be a few months after his wife Kate is due to give birth to their third child.
Kensington Palace released a statement via Twitter saying: ‘Duke of Cambridge will visit Jordan and the Occupied Palestinian Territories in the summer. The visit is at the request of Her Majesty’s Government and has been welcomed by the Jordanian and Palestinian authorities.’
They are yet to announce the exact location and dates but the visit will see the Duke meet with senior politicians and local charities.
