Having been closed for the last seven years, Beirut’s stunningly renovated Sursock Museum reopens on 8 October with a powerful array of new collections.
The private home of Nicolas Ibrahim Sursock that was dedicated to Beirut in 1952 will once again be the proud home of modern and contemporary art in Beirut. The museum launches with a collection of 200 works that capture Beirut from 1800-1960, which have been curated from many private collections. It’s supported by another collection of video, photographs and maps that explore today’s Beirut.
The top two floors of the museum are dedicated to its own collection which chart its history since 1961 and that of Lebanese art over the last 200 years. www.sursock-museum.com
