Emirates Palace hotel has officially rebranded as Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
This landmark moment signifies a new era for the iconic property as it joins the Hong Kong-based luxury hotel chain’s portfolio elevating it to a new level of finesse. This new chapter will build upon the hotel’s distinctive legacy while introducing new and refined unparalleled experiences for guests, further cementing its position as one of the world’s most iconic beachfront resorts.
The relaunch took place on 17th February 2023 beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a spectacular evening event to commemorate the opening. The morning ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Sultan Al Hemeiri, Managing Director of Emirates Palace Company (‘EPCO’), H.E. Sultan Al Hemeiri, Managing Director of EPCO, as well as James Riley, Group Chief Executive, and Joanna Flint, Chief Commercial Officer of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
During the ceremony, the Hotel Group’s signature fan was revealed to be in pride of place atop this iconic building. As per all of the Group’s properties, a fan was designed specifically for the Abu Dhabi property partnering with local artist Ahmad Saeed Al Areef Al Dhaheri who was inspired by the UAE’s treasured tradition of pearl diving to create a glistening blue fan which will be displayed in the hotel’s lobby.

The evening saw VIP guests and clients from across the UAE attend an impressive gala event with international artist performances and a spectacular firework display which lit up the Abu Dhabi skyline.
The hotel which has been an integral part of Abu Dhabi’s identity since its opening in November 2005 will retain its opulent and grandeur aesthetic, now combined with the understated elegance and modern touches that are synonymous with mandarin Oriental Group’s properties around the world.
The beachfront resort features renovated rooms new innovative dining experiences and brand-new spa and sports facilities, each elevated by Mandarin Oriental’s legendary service. Amongst the enhanced dining options, the one-Michelin-starred Talea by Antonio Guida is a celebration of authentic Cucina di Famiglia, served in a vibrant atmosphere both indoors and outdoors. Elsewhere, the all-new culinary destination Episodes – comprising a tea apothecary, a deli, a cake shop and a gelateria – promises an exploratory journey into both contemporary and classic favourites.
In addition to the serene sanctuary offered by The Hideaway, The Spa at Mandarin Oriental will pioneer self-care practices by world-renowned practitioners and launch a new range of skincare products by Tata Harper and Oto.
