The first watch exhibition by LVMH is coming to Dubai in January 2020.

Live in Dubai, and you’ll know 2020 is a year we’ve been, as a city, looking forward to for a long time. But Expo 2020 aside, now there’s another reason why we’re counting down the months.

LVMH –  the parent company behind brands such as Bvlgari, TAG Heuer, Hublot and Zenith – has announced a new exhibition will be showcased in the Emirate in January 202o, it’s first in the region.

The luxury event will take place in Dubai Bvlgari Hotel, and each watch brand will invite both international and local media as well as retail partners to discover the latest news, trends and innovations in the industry of the year ahead.

Jean-Christophe Babin, President of the Bvlgari Group, said on the news: “In between Geneva in January and Basel in March, we have had in the recent years two major product presentations in the first quarter.

“This early discovery of our strategies, news and novelties have allowed our media and retail partners to better plan the year ahead and as such we have decided on this set up for 2020 to balance the scheduling of the other events.”

Baselworld, the watch and jewellery trade show located in the Swiss city of Basel that pulls in thousands from all over the world year on year, will take place later in the year around late April to early May, and LMVH has confirmed its presence there, too.

Stéphane Bianchi, President of the LVMH Watch Division, confirmed: “We remain very supportive and loyal to Baselworld and the Swiss watchmaking industry. However, it was not possible for us to go 13 months without a global presentation of our products and brands. This additional event further confirms the LVMH commitment to the strategic and profitable watch category.”
