Jaeger-LeCoultre to Showcase Atmos Clock at Milan Design Week

From the 8th to the 13th of April 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre will present “Living on Air”, a free public exhibition at Villa Mozart in central Milan, highlighting the history and design of the Atmos clock.

First invented in 1928, the Atmos is powered by small changes in air temperature, giving it up to 48 hours of autonomy and making it one of the closest realisations of perpetual motion.

The exhibition spans four thematic chapters, featuring 19 Atmos clocks from over nine decades. Visitors will encounter archival materials, technical drawings and live watchmaking demonstrations.

The showcase includes models by designer Marc Newson and intricate cabinets crafted using wood and straw marquetry.

Jaeger-LeCoultre, known as the Watchmaker of Watchmakers, has safeguarded and evolved the Atmos mechanism for over 90 years. The exhibition also introduces a new limited-edition Atmos clock designed for Milan Design Week.

Exhibition hours are 11.00 to 19.00, except Wednesday 9 April when it closes at 18.00. Registration is available online or on-site.

In parallel, Jaeger-LeCoultre supports the Homo Faber Fellowship exhibition at Casa degli Artisti in Brera, featuring co-created works by 23 master-apprentice duos.
