Panerai continues its mission to contribute to the protection of the planet by partnering with Razer and Conservation International.

In 2021, Panerai launched its worldwide educational campaign “Panerai Ocean Conservation Initiative”. This campaign aimed to enlighten students on how a luxury brand like Panerai, can be a force for good for the planet thanks to its serious commitment to sustainability. Panerai now continues its mission even further, by partnering with a leading brand for gamers; Razer, who launched its #GoGreenWithRazer back in 2021, and non-profit organization Conservation International.

This new manta ray conservation programme aims to gain a deeper understanding of marine life, how to protect this habitat and ensure the healthy development of sustainable livelihood for local communities. Data will be collected by using safe satellite tagging of the rays as they move through the ocean, such as temperature, depth and location. Using this data, paired with the knowledge of known hazards, climate change and other information will provide an invaluable awareness and understanding of how to move conservation forwards.

“The objective of ocean preservation is an indispensable consideration in all that we do, in the manufacture and beyond. Our partnership with Razer and Conservation Internationalis no exception, and it demonstrates our 360-degree approach to improving the marine environment. The project convincingly shows that safeguarding ocean wildlife isn’t a zero-sum game. Instead, protecting the manta supports a healthy ecosystem, including the people who are part of it,” says Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO at Panerai.

In addition, next December Panerai will unveil a limited-edition series of an iconic watch design bearing Razers’ signature aesthetics and made with recycled materials. We look forward to seeing the reveal of this new timepiece and the positive impact these brands will have on our precious planet.
